Join Jane Swartz and members of The Greater Newtown Exchange Club on April 18 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Newtown Fire Association, 14 Liberty St. Newtown, for “April Showers,” an event to raise awareness of and provide needed items for "A Woman's Place shelter". April is Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Please fill re-usable shopping bags with the following needed items to drop off at the Event:
Paper towels and paper napkins, toilet paper and tissues, large size diapers or pull-up sizes 4-6, baby wipes, baby powder, diaper rash cream, sippy cups and paper cups, shampoo, conditioner and deodorant, cotton swabs, bobby pins, face and body lotion, sun block, body soap, body wash, hygiene items, disinfectant wipe and household cleaners, laundry detergent pods, dish soap and cleaning sponges, coloring books and crayons, OTC adult/children medications, i.e. pain relievers, allergy, etc., gift cards $10 to $25 to Wawa, Wal-Mart, Target, Kohls, CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens.
Lite fare and refreshments will be available. A staff member from “A Woman’s Place” will be joining us for conversation. Drop in or drop off your bag to encourage the families.
